The 230-1223 Hose As may rub against the water line guard. The rubbing can cause hydraulic leaks and failure of 272-3369 Brake Cooling Lines Gp .Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, and is recommending the following interim corrective action.

Remove the guard (A). Discard the part.

Cut the hose (1) to the length of 190 mm (7.5 inch) approximately and cut a slit longitudinally as shown in the Illustration 3.

Install the hose (1) in place of guard (A) and secure with two cable straps (2) as shown in Illustration 4.

Orient the slit location towards the inside of the truck. Refer to Illustration 5

Orient the cable straps (2) head away from the outside face as shown in Illustration 6.

Orient the bolts (3) of the hose away from outside face. Maintain 90 degrees difference between the bolts (3). Refer to Illustration 7 for proper orientation of bolts.
