Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel system. Thoroughly clean the area around a fuel system component that will be disconnected. Fit a suitable cover over disconnected fuel system component.
Use a suitable container to catch any fuel that might spill. Clean up any spilled fuel immediately.

(6) Fuel pressure tap (filtered fuel)
(7) Fuel pressure tap (unfiltered fuel)
Turn off the engine
Slowly loosen plugs (6) and (7). Refer to illustration 2
Connect the 1U-5470 Engine Pressure Gp into pressure taps (6) and (7) using hoses provided. Test Procedure - Fuel Filter Differential Pressure
Start the engine
Operate the engine to rated speed and load.
Note the pressure reading.
If, the fuel filter differential pressure is above 75 kPa (10.8 psi), replace both fuel filters according to the engine Operation and Maintenance Manual .
After filters have been replaced recheck the differential pressure using the procedure above. Test Preparation - Fuel System Pressure

Turn off the engine
Remove plug (8)
Connect the 1U-5470 Engine Pressure Gp to port (8) using provided hoses. Test Procedure - Fuel System Pressure
Start the engine
Operate engine to rated speed and load.
Note the pressure reading. Adjustment Procedure - Fuel System Pressure
If, the fuel system pressure is not within the specifications listed in table 1, adjust the pressure using adjustment screw (10).
After adjustment recheck the system pressure using the procedure above. Test Preparation - Fuel Return Restriction
Turn off the engine
Connect the 1U-5470 Engine Pressure Gpinline with the customer fuel return line. Test Procedure - Fuel Return Restriction
Start the engine.
Operate the engine to rated speed and load.
Note the pressure reading.
If, the fuel return pressure exceeds 350 kPa (51 psi) customer return fuel line must be corrected to reduce restriction.
