Start By:a. remove valve covers 1. Turn the crankshaft with Tool (C) until there is no pressure on rocker arm (2).2. Make a separation between rocker arm (2) and push rod (1) with Tool (A). Remove push rod (1). Put identification on each push rod as to its location in the cylinder head. 3. Remove valve lifter (3) with Tool (B).4. Remove spring (4) from lifter (3).Install Valve Lifters & Push Rods
Install a new guide spring on the valve lifter any time the lifters are removed from the engine. 1. Install a new guide spring on the valve lifter with Tool (A), Tool (B) and a soft faced hammer. 2. Remove lifter from Tool (A). Put clean engine oil on the lifter. Put lifter into position in the cylinder block with spring (2) in alignment with the hole in the cylinder block. Push the lifter out of Tool (B) with Tool (D).3. Install the push rod for each lifter. Make a connection between the rocker arms and push rods with Tool (C).End By:a. install valve covers
