Install U-cup seal (22) and wear ring (23) in gland (21).
Install O-ring seal (19) and backup ring (20) on the outer diameter of gland (21).
Insert gland (21) in the end of the tube (18). Gland (21) and tube (18) will be installed in the cylinder as an assembly.

Position the suspension cylinder vertically on Tooling (A). Install two bolts in order to hold the suspension cylinder in position.
Attach Tooling (H) and a suitable lifting device to the gland and tube assembly (18), as shown. Lower the gland and tube assembly (18) into the housing assembly. The weight of the gland and tube assembly (18) is 31 kg (68 lb).

Hold tube assembly (18) in place with Tooling (D). Use Tooling (A) (not shown) to rotate the cylinder by 180 degrees.

Install ring (16), ring seal (17), and lip seal (15) in the bottom of the housing assembly.

Use Tooling (A ) in order to rotate the cylinder by 180°.
Attach Tooling (E) to rod assembly (14). Attach Tooling (F) to Tooling (E). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (F). Apply clean oil to cylinder rod assembly (14). Lower rod assembly (14) into the housing assembly. The weight of rod assembly (14) is 113 kg (250 lb).

Push the rod assembly into the housing assembly by using Tooling (E) and Tooling (J).
Place ball (15) in position in the rod assembly.

Install ring (13) on piston (12). Apply clean oil to ring (13). Position piston (12) on the rod assembly. Use Tooling (J) to push piston (12) and the rod assembly into the housing assembly.

Install the hard washers and bolts (11) which fasten piston (12) to the rod assembly. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).

Install ring (9) and O-ring seals (10) into head (6). Install check valve (8) and valve assembly (7). Tighten the valve assemblies to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).

Apply a thin coat of Tooling (K) to the surface between the tube assembly and head (6).
Position head (6) on the cylinder, as shown. Use the alignment marks in order to position the head. Install the washers and bolts (5).

Position pressure sensor (4) on the head.
Install bearing (2). Install retaining ring (3). Install bearing cap (1) with retaining ring (3) in the down position.
Fill the lower cavity with Tooling (L) at the grease fitting.
Remove the front suspension cylinder from Tooling (A). The weight of the front suspension cylinder is 315 kg (695 lb). End By:
Install the charging valves.
Install the front wheel, the bearing, and the Duo-Cone seals.
Install the front suspension cylinder.
