This procedure is being added to the maintenance interval schedules for the above engines:Visually inspect the camshaft lobes and the lifter rollers during the 4000 service hour interval. Perform the inspection and follow the recommendations of the most recent revisions of the following publications:
Reuse And Salvage Guidelines, SEBF8146, "Visual Inspection of Camshafts"
Reuse And Salvage Guidelines, SEBF8191, "Camshaft Roller Followers 3500 Family of Engines "Note: Inspection and adjustment of the engine valve lash is also performed at the 4000 service hour interval.The following manuals are being revised in order to include the inspection of the camshaft lobes and the lifter rollers.
