Start By:
Remove the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".
Remove the engine side guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Side Guards - Remove and Install".
Remove the bottom guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bottom Guard - Remove".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all harness assemblies, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Drain the hydraulic system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities - Refill" for the capacity of the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the proper draining procedure.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities - Refill" for the capacity of the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (DEAC) - Change" or Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Extended Life Coolant - Change" for the proper draining procedure.

Remove bolts (1). Remove plate assembly (2).

Loosen clamp (4) and disconnect hose (3).
Loosen clamp (6) and disconnect hose (5).
Disconnect harness assemblies (7) and remove bolt (8).

Disconnect hose assembly (9).
Loosen clamp (10) and disconnect hose (11). Loosen clamp (12) and disconnect hose (13).
Loosen clamp (14) and disconnect hose (15).

Disconnect hose assemblies (16) and (17).
Remove clamp (18).

Tension the track to gain access to bolt (19). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Track - Check/Adjust". Remove bolt (19). Use Tooling (A) to remove pin (20). Repeat for the opposite side of the machine.

Remove hose (21).
Remove hose (22).
Disconnect hoses (23) and (24).

Remove bolts (25) and remove radiator cover assembly (26) from radiator guard (27).

Attach Tooling (B) to radiator guard (27). Attach the other end of Tooling (B) to a suitable lifting device to tilt radiator guard (27) forward. Tilt radiator guard (27) far enough to install Tooling (C) and pins (20).Note: Second pin (20) is from the opposite side of the machine.
