--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Some pump drive mounting brackets have had failures during machine operation in heavy load conditions. The brackets have had cracks in the welds and some have separated completely from the frame. If cracks are seen in the weld of the mounting bracket, use the procedure that follows to make a repair.
1. Cut out the weld that has cracks and weld the bracket again with E7018 Rod.2. Use a piece of structural steel channel (7.00" × 14.75 lb/ft) that is 85 mm (3.3") long as a reinforcement under the bracket. Cut two 12 mm (.5") × 45° chamfers on the top corners of the legs (flanges) of the channel. This will give clearance for the weld that holds the bracket to the frame. The channel must be of ASTM A36 steel or of similar quality steel.3. Install the channel as shown in Illustration 1. Use E7018 Welding Rod to weld the channel in place.
Illustration 1. Installation of support channel.If a complete separation of the pump drive mounting bracket and the frame has been made, use the procedure that follows to make the repairs.
1. Fabricate a new pump drive mounting bracket as shown in Illustration 2. Use an ASTM A36 or similar quality steel.
Illustration 2. Dimensions for fabrication of mounting bracket.2. If 8K2807 Bracket Assembly is damaged, a new one can be ordered.3. Fasten the mounting bracket to the pump drive. Use the pump drive to hold the bracket in position when it is welded. Put the mounting bracket in position according to the dimensions in Illustration 3.4. Use E7018 Rod to weld the bracket in place on the frame.5. Install the 8K2807 Bracket Assembly on the frame and mounting bracket as shown in Illustration 3.
