Engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may be harmful to your health. Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.
If the engine is equipped with a manual clutch, the clutch must be disengaged prior to starting the engine. Starting the engine with the clutch engaged imposes unnecessary strain on the battery, starter, and driven components.If the engine stalls or falters during starting, wait 3 to 4 seconds before re-engaging the starter. Waiting will prevent possible damage to the starter or the engine. DO NOT operate the starter for periods longer than 30 seconds at a time. An interval of at least 1 minute should be observed between cranking periods to protect the starter from overheating.
