START BY:a. remove elevator drive sprockets and speed reducer 1. Remove fitting (1) from the housing. 2. Put identification marks on the components for correct assembly. Remove housing (2) from the spindle with tooling (A). The plate will fall out after the housing is removed. 3. Remove bearing (3) from the spindle with tooling (B). 4. Remove lip-type seal (4) from the spindle. 5. Remove eight nuts and bolts (5). Remove both sprockets (6) from the shaft.Assemble Elevator Upper Shaft
Assemble the sprockets with the manufacturer's numbers toward the speed reducer and in alignment with each other. 1. Install sprockets (1) on the shaft. Use 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease on bolts and nuts. Install eight bolts and nuts (2). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 120 to 149 N m (90 to 110 lb.ft.). 2. Install plate (4) in housing (5). Install bearing (3) in the housing with tool group (A). 3. Install the seal in the housing with tool group (A). Install the seal until it makes contact with the counterbore in the housing and with the lip of the seal away from the inside of the housing. 4. Install housing (5) on the spindle. The housing must be installed on the shaft assembly so the housing is in the center of the hanger and is free to turn. 5. Install fitting (6) in the end of the housing. Fill with clean grease until grease appears between the housing and spindle assembly. Put grease in with care. Make sure that housing is not pushed off of the spindle assembly by pressure. If the housing is pushed off the spindle assembly, the assembly must be disassembled and checked.END BY:a. install elevator drive sprocket and speed reducer
