Check installation of transmission speed sensor.Expected Result: The transmission speed sensor is loose in the transmission housing.
YES, inspect for damage and re-tighten speed sensor. Check the fault code. The repair is complete if the fault code is no longer active.
NO, go to Step 5.
Disconnect transmission speed sensor connector C162. Unbolt the CCM inside the cab, lift it up, and disconnect CCM connector C002. Check for open circuit in Rear Main harness between C002-9 and C162-1, C002-8 and C162-2.Expected Result: There is an open circuit.
YES, locate and repair open circuit in Rear Main harness. Check fault code and if no longer active the repair is complete.
NO, go to Step 6.
Check for short circuit in Rear Main harness from C162-1 and C162-2 to chassis ground. Expected Result: There is a short in the circuit to the chassis ground.
