An improved procedure is now available for flashing a new Advisor ECM that has never been flashed on the machines that are listed above. The improved procedure allows you to flash the new 284-8906 Electronic Control Module (Advisor) over the Cat Datalink instead of the J1939 datalink.This improved procedure is used because an Advisor ECM that has never been flashed can only recognize a limited number of ECMs on the J1939 datalink. If the J1939 datalink is used to flash the Advisor ECM on certain D8T Tier4i machines, the ECM may not flash properly. This is indicated only by the 0% flashing indicator remaining on the screen.This procedure improves the reliability of the software to be flashed on the Advisor ECM.Note: Go to SIS Web to make sure that the new flash file part number is the most recent software file available. A newer flash file may be available.
