HVAC Filter Seal Inspection and Bracket Install Procedure

(A) HVAC cover
Remove the sheet metal HVAC cover (A) from the right-hand side of the operator cab by removing seven M6 5C-9553 Bolt. Save the bolts for reinstallation.
Disconnect fluid lines and wire harness connections to washer bottle in sheet metal HVAC cover.

(B) HVAC recirculation filter cover
(C) Wing nut
Remove the HVAC recirculation filter cover (B) by removing the two wing nuts (C), as shown in Illustration 2. Remove HVAC recirculation filter.

(D) Cable strap
(E) Probe
Cut the cable strap (D) that secures the temperature probe (E), as shown in Illustration 3. Discard cable strap (D).

(E) Probe
Disconnect the probe (E) from wire harness connector, as shown in Illustration 4.Note: Disconnecting the wire harness will make removal of probe (E) and the nonmetallic cover (F) easier.

Remove the temperature probe (E).

(F) Nonmetallic cover
(G) Fasteners
Remove the 14 fasteners (G) from the nonmetallic cover (F) and save the fasteners.Note: The fasteners (G) may either be T30 or M10 hex head fasteners.

(F) Nonmetallic cover
The nonmetallic cover (F) should be free to pivot back from the rest of the HVAC unit, as shown in Illustration 7.

(H) 9X-2044 Screw
Remove the two screws (H), as shown in Illustration 8. Save the fastener.

(1) 520-6380 Bracket
(H) Screw
Install the bracket support (1) by sliding over the side brackets, as shown in Illustration 9. Install the two screws (H) that were saved in Step 9 and tighten the screws to 6 N m (4.4 lb ft).
Rotate the nonmetallic cover (F) back into position and install the 14 fasteners (G) that were saved in Step 7. Tighten the fasteners to 6 N m (4.4 lb ft).
Reinstall the temperature probe (E).Note: Take caution to align properly the probe to prevent damage to the coil or the probe.

(2) 3S-2093 Cable Strap
(E) Probe
Reconnect the probe (E) to wire harness and secure with the new cable strap (2), as shown in Illustration 10.
Remove the old seal from the HVAC filter cover (B).
Clean the filter cover mating surface on the conditioner group and make sure none of the adhesive from the previous seal remains. Clean the surface of the filter cover (B).

(B) HVAC filter cover
(3) 302-8727 Seal
Remove the adhesive backing from the new seal (3) and install on the HVAC filter cover (B) in the same location where the previous seal is located, as shown in Illustration 11.
Reinstall the HVAC recirculation filter cover (B) and recirculation filter. Hand tighten the two wing nuts (C).
Reconnect the fluid lines and wire harness connections to the washer bottle.
Replace the sheet metal HVAC Cover (A). Tighten the bolts to 12 3 N m (9 2 lb ft).
Ensure the HVAC functions properly.
Remove lock out from machine.
