Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Clean the oil pan gasket surface on the oil pan and the cylinder block. Install a new oil pan gasket (2) on oil pan (1). Note: Check the inside of the oil pan in order to ensure that all of the tools have been removed. Ensure that there is nothing under the suction bell.

Move oil pan (1) into position under the cylinder block.
Install the 1/2 inch guide pins at each corner of the oil pan. Use a pallet jack in order to raise the oil pan into position. Install the bolts and washers.

Typical Example
Put the tube assembly and spacer (4) in position. Install bolts (5). Note: Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean engine oil before installation.
Install the clamps and bolts that hold the tube assembly to the oil pan.
Remove the engine from the support blocks. Install the engine on the base.
Fill the engine with oil to the correct level. Refer to the Operation And Maintenance Manual for additional information. End By:
Remove the engine lifting brackets. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Lifting Brackets - Remove and Install".
Install the prelubrication oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Prelubrication Pump - Install".
Prelube the engine before starting.
