The User Interface Panel provides the operator with the primary means for communicating with the UPS. The User Interface Panel provides the operator with information that is important for the safe operation of the equipment. The User Interface Panel provides the operator with the following options:
Starting the UPS
Stopping the UPS
Changing the operating parameters
Changing the mode of operation
Displaying system errors
Displaying telemetry dataThe operator can view the following information on the display:
Voltage input
Voltage output
Power factor
Output current
Flywheel speed
Number of discharges that are executedLCD Contrast Adjustment
Once power is applied to the system, the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) should be active. If "Menu" is not displayed in the LCD (6), or there is no text that is visible, use the up arrow keys and the down arrow keys (1) on the LCD in order to increase the contrast or decrease the contrast of the screen. Refer to ""Display Contrast Menu"" in this manual.Once the screen is adjusted for the best viewing, the adjustment is complete. The current setting is saved in non-volatile memory. The non-volatile memory will remember the setting through the power cycles.User Interface Components
Arrow Keys
The keypad has two Arrow Keys (1) that are located at the right of the LCD. The keys are used with the LCD display. The function of the keys changes depending on the information that is displayed to the left of the key. The arrow keys have the following functions:
In the default display mode, the arrow keys adjust the contrast of the LCD (6)
When a menu is accessed, the keys act as an "UP" key and a "DOWN" keyUPS Keyswitch
The UPS Keyswitch (2) is used in order to control the operation of the UPS. The UPS Keyswitch is used under the following conditions:
Reset or restart the system after an error, or when the "Emergency Shutdown" mode is activated
Lock the UPS into the Bypass or the "Online" position. The key must be turned to that position and then removed from the UPS Keyswitch.Status Indicators
The status indicators (3) alert the operator to the status of the UPS. The status indicators will alert the operator of notice messages and alarm messages. The status of the UPS and any messages will be displayed in the LCD (6) .Normal - During normal operation, the green lamp will remain illuminated. When the UPS is the "bypass" mode or the system is discharging, this lamp will flash. Notice - When there is a "Notice Message", this yellow lamp will illuminate and an audible alarm will activate.Alarm - When there is an "Alarm Message", this red lamp will illuminate and an audible alarm will activate.Emergency Power Off (EPO) Button
The red Emergency Power Off button (4) is used in order to place the UPS in the "shutdown" mode. The button is labeled with the letters "EPO".
When the emergency power off switch is used, high voltage still remains in the system.
