Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Escaping fluid under pressure, even a pinhole size leak, can penetrate body tissue, causing serious injury, and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Test for the Sequence Valve

The ejector control lever is shown in the EJECT position.
Eject the ejector blade fully. Place the ejector control lever in the HOLD position.
Turn the engine off.
Purge all brake pressure.
Start the engine.
Place ejector control lever (1) in the HOLD position. Allow the brake pressure to build up. When the pressure reaches 15858 kPa (2300 psi) the ejector blade will move. Note when the ejector blade begins to return.Test for Shuttle Valve
The flow of the hydraulic oil is the best indicator for determining if the shuttle valve is operating correctly. The following procedure explains the steps for checking the operation of the shuttle valve. To properly perform this procedure, the brake pump must be operating at the correct pressure. Also, the check valve to the manifold must not be closed.
Turn the engine off.

Route a hose from the tank port (2) of manifold (tractor) (3) to an external container.
Start the truck. Place the ejector control lever (1) in the HOLD position. Note: Note the amount of flow that drains into the container. The tank line should only have low leakage. This leakage should only be several milliliters per minute.
Watch the flow as you place the ejector control valve in the EJECT position. Then place the ejector control valve in the HOLD position. Then place the ejector control valve in the SUSPENSION RIDE HEIGHT position. The flow from the tank line should be no more than 1.13 L/min (0.3 US gpm) for each positions.
Return the ejector control lever to the HOLD position. Verify that the leakage has been reduced to a low amount.Note: If the flow of
