Transmission Lock Switch (Transmission Neutral Lock)
Illustration 8 g00573835
Transmission Lock Switch (Transmission Neutral Lock)Note: The transmission lock switch (transmission neutral lock) is part of the STIC steering control.
Illustration 9 g00574729
View of the STIC Steering Control from the Monitor Panel (4) Transmission lock switch (transmission neutral lock). The transmission lock switch (transmission neutral lock) is used to lock the transmission in the neutral position. The transmission lock switch (transmission neutral lock) is activated by a large lever. The lever is located at the left side of the operator's seat. The transmission will be locked if the lever is in the locked position. The transmission will be unlocked if the lever is in the unlocked position. The transmission lock switch (transmission neutral lock) is placed in the locked position while the transmission is in neutral. While the transmission is in the neutral position direction shifts out of neutral are inhibited. If the transmission lock switch (transmission neutral lock) is set to the locked position the transmission is shifted to neutral while the transmission is in any forward or reverse speed range. The transmission will remain in neutral until the operator moves the direction switch out of neutral into forward or reverse after the transmission lock switch (transmission neutral lock) is placed in the unlocked position.Conversely, if the transmission lock switch (transmission neutral lock) is set to the unlocked position, the operator will have full control over the transmission. The valid combinations for each switch position are shown in Table 9 that follows.

Illustration 10 g00574911
Lockup Clutch SwitchThe lockup clutch switch is an input of the power train electronic control module (ECM). The lockup clutch switch signals the power train ECM to enable the lockup clutch function. The lockup clutch switch is a two-position rocker switch. When the switch is actuated, the switch closes connector contact J1-32 to ground. When the switch is deactivated, the switch is open to ground. The switch has eight terminals. Terminals 5 and 6 are used to turn on the indicator for the lockup clutch. Terminal A and terminal B turn on the indicator for the switch. Terminal 3 connects to connector contact J1-32 of the power train ECM. Terminal 2 connects to the ground. The valid combinations for each switch position are shown in Table 3 that follows.
