Clean the Filter
1. Remove the hydraulic tank fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.2. Open the access door on the left side of the machine.3. Loosen the filter housing retaining nut.4. Remove the housing and element.5. Remove the element from the case.6. Wash the element and housing in clean, nonflammable solvent.7. Dry the element using pressure air - 205 kPa (30 psi) maximum.8. Clean the filter case base.9. Inspect the seal. Replace it if it is damaged.10. Insert the clean element.11. Install the element and case into housing.12. Retighten the retaining nut.13. Close the access door.14. Observe the oil level on the sight tube on the side of the hydraulic tank. Add oil if necessary.15. Inspect the fill cap gasket. Replace it if it is damaged. Install the cap.Fuel Filter and Inlet Screen
Change the Filter
Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.
1. Open the access doors on both sides of the machine. Remove the access panel on top of platform.2. Close the fuel shutoff valve located on the right side of the engine compartment.3. Remove and discard the filter element.4. Clean the filter element mounting base. Be sure all of the old seal is removed.5. Coat the seal of the new filter element with clean diesel fuel.6. Install the new filter element by hand. When the seal contacts the base, tighten 3/4 turn more.There are rotation-index marks 90° apart on the filter. Use them as a guide for proper tightening.Clean the Inlet Screen
An in-line screen is located at the fuel supply fitting of the transfer pump.1. Remove the plug with O-ring seal.2. Remove the fuel inlet screen.3. Wash the screen in clean, nonflammable solvent.4. Inspect the condition of the seal and replace if damaged or worn.5. Install the screen and plug with seal.6. Open the fuel shutoff valve.7. Close the access doors and install the top access panel.
