Use Tooling (D) to remove bearing cone (37). Remove bearing cone (37) from differential and bevel gear (21). Bearing cone (37) must be replaced after removal.

Remove locknuts (38) and the washers from differential housing (42).

Attach a suitable lifting device to differential housing (39). The weight of differential housing (39) is approximately 110 kg (243 lb). Remove differential housing (39) from differential (40).

Remove locknuts (41) and the washers from differential housing (39). Remove differential housing (39) from ring gear (42).

Remove thrust washer (43) and gear (44) from spider (45).
Remove spider (45) and the gears as a unit.

Remove thrust washers (48), bevel pinions (47), and sleeve bearings (46) from spider (45).

Remove gear (49) and thrust washer (50) from differential (40).

Use Tooling (D) to remove bearing cone (51). Remove bearing cone (51) from differential (40).

Position differential carrier (34), as shown. Remove bolts (52) that hold bearing retainer (53) in position. Use Tooling (F) to loosen bearing retainer (53) from differential carrier (34).

Remove bearing retainer (53) from differential carrier (34). Remove O-ring seal (54) and shims (55) from bearing retainer (53).

Use Tooling (E) to remove bearing cup (56). Remove bearing cup (56) from bearing retainer (53).
