Apply the parking brake.
For machines without a gauge, install the tee and fittings. Install the 0 - 25000 kPa (0 - 3600 psi) pressure gauge on the suspension cylinder.
Start the engine. Check the hydraulic temperature with the digital thermometer until the hydraulic oil temperature reaches 38 °C (100 °F).
Raise the machine in order to extend the cylinders. At this point, read the relief valve setting on the gauge. The setting should be 15000 500 kPa (2175 73 psi).
If the relief valve pressure setting is not correct, the relief valve will need to be adjusted.
Illustration 1 g01073622
In order to adjust the relief valve, open the box for the ballast on the left side of the machine. Locate relief valve (1) on the pump. Loosen the locknut. Adjust the relief pressure by turning the adjustment screw. In order to increase the relief valve pressure, turn the adjustment screw clockwise. In order to decrease the relief valve pressure, turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise.
After the relief valve setting is correct, hold the adjustment screw in place and tighten the locknut. Stop the engine. Close the box for the ballast. Remove the pressure gauge.
