Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.
Accidental machine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the machine.To avoid accidental machine starting, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key. If the machine is not equipped with a battery disconnect switch, disconnect the battery cables from the battery and tape the battery clamps.Place a do not operate tag at the battery disconnect switch location to inform personnel that the machine is being worked on.
Note: Put identification marks on all wires for installation purposes.

Open the right side engine access door.

Loosen adjustment nut (1) and mounting bolt (3) in order to relieve tension from belt (4). Remove belt (4) from alternator (5) .

Disconnect cable (8) from alternator (5) .
Disconnect harness (7) .
Remove the harness clips (9) .
Disconnect ground cable (6) from alternator (5) .
Remove mounting bolts (2) and (3) .
Remove alternator (5). The weight of alternator (5) is 14 kg (30 lb).Installation Procedure

Install alternator (5). The weight of alternator (5) is 14 kg (30 lb).
Install mounting bolts (2) and (3) .
Connect cable (8) to alternator (5) .
Connect harness (7) .
Install harness clips (9) .
Connect ground cable (6) to alternator (5) .
Install belt (4) on alternator (5). Tighten adjustment nut (1) in order to increase tension of belt (4) .
Tighten mounting bolts (2) and (3) on alternator (5) .
