Note: Note the orientation of the lubrication tube assemblies from the left-hand side to the right-hand side and the corresponding port locations. Failure to install tube assemblies (12) correctly can lead to premature failure. Refer to Illustration 2 and Illustration 3 for the correct lubrication tube installation.Note: The tube assemblies are different between the left-hand and right-hand wheel stations. Put identification marks on the tube assemblies to ensure that the correct tube assembly is being installed.
Install tube assemblies (12) and the fittings.

Install Tooling (B) into Location (X) and Location (Y) on the rear axle housing.

Personal injury or death can occur from heavy components falling during removal or installation.Properly support the component with a suitable lifting device during removal or installation.
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lift truck to install final drive, brake, and wheel (10). The weight of final drive, brake, and wheel (10) is approximately 13154 kg (29000 lb).Note: Use suitable chains to secure final drive, brake, and wheel (10) to the carrier of Tooling (A).

Install bolts (11). Remove Tooling (B).

Install the remaining bolts (11). Remove Tooling (A).
Tighten bolts (11) using the following method.
Tighten the bolts in a circular pattern to a torque of 1200 100 N m (885 74 lb ft). Double check that all bolts are torqued to 1200 100 N m (885 74 lb ft).
Turn each bolt an additional 90° 5°.

Install tube assemblies (9). Connect fittings (8).

Connect clips (7), clamps (6), and harness assembly (5).

Connect hose assembly (4). Connect brackets (3).

Connect brackets (1). Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and position out of the way.
Check the wheel assembly for leaks. Plug the breather that is located on the axle. Remove the filler plug from the final drive. Attach a gauge and air supply in order to achieve 0.0345 MPa (5.00 psi). Check for leaks if more than 0.007 MPa (1.00 psi) is lost in a 5 minute period.
Remove the air from the brakes. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Brake System Air - Purge.".
Do not attempt to operate the machine to rotate the wheel and final drive with the rim adapters removed. The retaining bolts can shear and the final drive can fall from the wheel causing severe personal injury or death.
End By:
Install the rear axle shaft.
Install the rear tires and rims.
