--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Description of Change: A new silencer is available for the 3600 Engines. The new silencer contains outer screens with retaining grids which secure the damping segments in place. The new silencer will eliminate movement of the damping segments due to vibration that can cause fretting damage to the silencer frame. This will eliminate flakes of aluminum entering the turbocharger, which can then cause damage to the compressor wheel.Adaptable To: A new 159-4507 Silencer replaces the former 129-6726 Silencer for the 3600 Engines listed above. The new silencers will be effective for the 3600 Engines with the following serial numbers: 3606 (8RB688), 3608 (6MC571), 3612 (9RC259), 3616 (1PD329) Industrial Engines; 3612 (9FR21), 3616 (1FN150) Marine Engines; G3606 (3XF167), G3608 (4WF86), G3612 (1YG137), G3616 (4CG100) Industrial Gas Engines. Silencers must be inspected as part of the scheduled turbocharger maintenance. If a replacement silencer is needed, the new 159-4507 Silencer should be used on the 3600 Engines listed above.
