When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
The 338-3453 Solenoid under certain operating conditions is subject to shorting between ground and the terminal plate.
ACTION REQUIRED
Remove all 338-3453 Solenoids with a date code before 2K12 (2012OCT12) from dealer parts stock.
A 338-3453 Solenoid with a date code of 2K12 and after are approved for use.
Refer to Image1 for the location and an example of a date code. The date code format is a four digit number and letter.
2 = Year (0 for 2010, 1 for 2011, 2 for 2012, etc.)
G = Month (A for January, B for February, etc. The letter ?I? is skipped.
27 = Date of Month
