Perform the following rework procedure:
1)Turn engine start switch to the "ON" position. Connect ET to the data link, and
verify that the Truck Product ID (which is the Machine serial number, for example
AWRXXXXXX) is programmed in the configuration screen. If it has not yet been
programmed, do so before proceeding.
2)Check and ensure no active diagnostic codes are present before proceeding. If any
active codes exist, troubleshoot as per the Systems Operation, Testing and
Adjusting and Troubleshooting manuals.
3)FLASH the engine ECM with the appropriate engine ECM flash file using CAT
Electronic Technician, ET2005B or later.
Note: Do not use 3.5-inch disks when flashing software. All software to be flashed
must be loaded onto the PC hard drive first, and flashed from the hard drive
directory. Disable the PC screensaver before beginning the flash procedure.
4)Upon completion of flashing, start the engine. Check for diagnostic codes.
Disconnect CAT ET.
Note: Depending on the software vintage currently in the engine control, factory passwords may be required after the control is reflashed.
