Left side of machine (1) Generator (2) Generator motorGenerator (1) and generator motor (2) are located under the left side of the operator platform. The generator motor is an axial piston motor with a fixed displacement. The generator pump supplies the oil in order to operate the generator motor. The generator valve controls the oil flow to the generator motor. The ports on the generator motor are labelled for identification. The following describes each port on the generator motor:
Port "A" is the motor outlet.
Port "B" is the motor inlet.
Port "L1" is the case drain port that is plugged.
Port "L2" is the case drain port.
Port "L3" is the case drain port that is plugged.

Generator motor cross section (3) Cylinder block (4) Piston (5) Slipper pads (6) Swashplate (7) Output shaft (8) Valve plateThe generator motor has a displacement of 44 cc (2.7 in3) per revolution.When the generator is operating, supply oil from the generator pump enters the motor. Supply oil is directed to the inlet port of the valve plate. The valve plate directs oil into the piston chamber in the cylinder block. This pressure forces the pistons which are aligned with the inlet port to move out of the cylinder block.As the pistons are forced out of the cylinder block, the slipper feet slide along the swashplate. This action causes the cylinder block and pistons to rotate. Since the cylinder block is splined to the output shaft, the output shaft also rotates. As the cylinder block rotates, pistons align with the outlet port in the valve plate. Rotation of the cylinder block forces oil out of the piston chambers and into the return line.
