Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses and all tubes. This will help to prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Remove four bolts (1), the washers, and center guard assembly (2) .

Remove four bolts (3), the washers, and right side guard assembly (4) .

Remove cotter pin (5) and the pin. Disconnect electrical connector (6) .

Disconnect three hose assemblies (7). Remove two mounting bolts (8) and the washers. Remove parking brake control valve (9) .Installation Procedure
Note: Thoroughly clean all parts of the parking brake control valve prior to installation. Inspect all parts and replace any parts that are worn or damaged.Note: Inspect the O-ring seals in the ends of the hose assemblies. If any of the O-ring seals are damaged, use new parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean hydraulic oil.

Install parking brake control valve (9). Install two bolts (8) and the washers. Connect three hose assemblies (7) .

Connect electrical connector (6). Install pin (5) and the cotter pin.

Install right side guard (4), four bolts (3), and the washers.

Install center guard assembly (2), four bolts (1), and the washers.End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
