SNUBBER WILL PROTECT FUEL PRESSURE SWITCH 824C, 776 TRACTORS; 825C, 826C COMPACTORS; 777 TRUCKS; 980C LOADERS, 1250, 1256, PI7137 (Revised June 1985) U-37 A-19 AU-29 C-28 E-26 O-26 optional Some new serial numbers for 980C Loaders have been added to the "Affected Machines". Replace Pages 1 and 2 of Service Letter (PI7137) dated March 28, 1985 with this revision. See the changes denoted by (right arrow). Problem The above models with the listed serial numbers use a fuel pressure switch to turn on the EMS warning horn system. On some machines, low frequency pressure pulses cause constant cycling of the switch diaphragm. This will rupture the diaphragm and cause a fuel leak. A pressure snubber is now installed between the fuel transfer pump and the switch. See Illustrations at end of this Service Letter. The snubber has a porous center which dampens the pressure pulses.
