The removal of the alcohol injection units and the duel dryer system is recommended. The 223-3637 Air Compressor Gp has had the issue of the safety valve "popping" on the discharge side of the air compressor. The cause of the "popping" sound is due to restrictive delivery lines on the air compressor. The "popping" is not an indication of a problem with the relief valve on the air compressor.BENDIX has recommended the removal of the alcohol injection units. Also, BENDIX recommended the removal of the duel dryer system. Install larger air lines in order to eliminate pressure spikes that cause the safety valve to release. For engines that have this issue, BENDIX recommends retrofitting half inch delivery lines from the dryer to the reservoir. This provides more rapid delivery of air out of the dryer and into the air system. This will prevent the valve from "popping".Note: Only vehicles that experience valve "popping" should be retrofitted with new delivery lines.
