All 3508 Engines, 3512 And 3516 Vehicular EnginesDescription of Change: A new sealant is used on the oil pan mounting bolts after assembly. In the past, moisture could collect in the top of the open bolt holes, seep past the bolt threads, and, in cold weather, freeze and damage the oil pan gasket. The new sealant keeps moisture from entering the threads. The new sealant is applied from the top after assembly and will penetrate only as deep as the top two or three threads of the oil pan bolts.Adaptable To: For field service use 3S6252 RTV Silicone Adhesive/Sealant to seal the open bolt holes after assembly. Apply an amount from the top sufficient to seal the hole and protect the threads.
