Then tighten the four outer bolts.Tighten the bolts and nuts to the following torque. Earlier bolts and nuts ... 22 N m (16 lb ft) Later bolts ... 18 N m (13 lb ft)Note: Earlier engines used two studs and six bolts to fasten the exhaust manifold to the engine. If these bolts are found to be loose, remove the bolts and install eight powerlock bolts. The threaded portion of the bolt is machined in a oval shape.Note: Use a flat washer 1.83 mm (0.072 inch) with the newer bolts, only if the bosses of the exhaust manifold have been machined. (4) Two removable guides that align the exhaust manifold during installation
