View from underneath platform (2) 3 mm (0.118 inch) fillet weldsOnce the installation is complete, the tabs on the 394-0742 Plate must be welded to the platform plate of the truck.Note: The tabs are modified as per specific truck model platforms.Once the antenna is attached to the top of the mast and the antenna cable connected to the antenna, the mast is mounted to the support assembly. The antenna cable is then routed to the location of the satellite receiver group (LPGPS or MPGPS).Instructions to Replace 394-0750 Support As with 453-1571 Support As and Install 394-0745 Mast As Using 158-5052 Half Clamps
Perform the following procedure to replace the 394-0750 Support As with the 453-1571 Support As and Install the 394-0745 Mast As using 158-5052 Half Clamps :
Disconnect the GPS antenna and cable.
Remove the 394-0745 Mast As and associated hardware.
Remove the 394-0750 Support As and associated hardware.
Install the 453-1571 Support As on the 385-4505 Bracket As using four 8T-4195 Bolt (M10×1.5, eight 8T-4896 Hard Washer , and four 6V-7744 Locknut . Tighten to 50 5 N m (36.87 3.68 lb ft).
Place two 158-5052 Half Clamps on the spacers of the 453-1571 Support As .
Install the GPS antenna on the new mast. Route the cable through the 348-8145 Bracket and the 394-0745 Mast As . Connect the cable to the antenna.
Taking care not to damage the cable, install the new 394-0745 Mast As to the face plate of the 348-8145 Bracket using the 7K-4667 U-Bolts , 3K-6060 Locknuts , and 8T-4896 Hard Washers .
Apply remaining two 158-5052 Half Clamps around the 394-0745 Mast As and align with the two installed in Step 5.
Install the 453-1573 Plate As over the clamps.
Apply the 7X-7729 Washers and insert four 8T-4198 Bolts though the 158-5052 Half Clamps . Tighten the 8T-0389 Locknuts on the bolts to 15 3 N m (11.06 2.21 lb ft).
