1. Position rotor group (1) on a suitable stand. 2. When positioning rotor group on a stand, add a spacer to prevent damage to plugs (2) on the axle housing. 3. Remove the cotter pin and pin (3). 4. Attach a suitable lifting device to rotor hood (4). 5. Remove two bolts (5) and washers, stop disc (6) and retainer, each side. 6. Remove plug (7), and drain lubricant into a suitable container, each side. 7. Lift the rotor group, and support chain case (9) with a suitable stand. 8. Remove five tool bits (10). This only applies to the SS-250B. 9. Rotate the rotor drum so the five tool bit holes are at the front of the rotor hood.10. Remove four bolts (11) and nuts, each side.11. Remove shield (12) and two retainers (not shown) from each side. 12. Note groove (13) for the retainers removed in step (11). 13. Remove nine bolts (14) and washers from each side. 14. Remove one pin (15) from each side. 15. Remove rotor hood (4). For installation of the rotor hood reverse the removal steps.End By:a. Install rotor door.b. Install rotor door lift cylinder.c.
