Information:
Start by:a. loosen tracks 1. Remove plate (1) and cover (2) from the track roller frame.
The adjuster cylinder for the track is under high hydraulic pressure. Grease under high pressure can cause injury. Do not visually inspect the adjuster to see if grease is released when the valve is opened. Check to see that the track has loosened and the idler assembly rod has moved rearward into the front support of the track roller frame.
2. Loosen the track as follows:a. Turn valve (3) one turn counterclockwise to permit grease to be released from the vent hole below the valve. If the track does not loosen, start the machine and move it forward and backward. If the track does still not loosen go to Step b. b. Install a slug (4) that is 76.2 mm (3 in) in diameter and 63.5mm (2.5 in) long between the track and sprocket segment. Make sure the slug makes contact with a track bushing. Move the machine rearward so that the track will be pushed up by the slug. This will put tension on the track, and move the front idler and track adjuster against the outward force of the recoil spring. If the track does still not loosen, go to Step c. c. Move the machine forward so the slug (4) does not put tension on the track. Loosen bolts (5) to a maximum of 6.4 mm (.25 in). Move the machine to the rear so the slug (4) will push up the track. Grease will be forced from the track adjuster through the secondary bleed hole. This will allow the track to loosen. After the track is loosened, move the machine forward and remove slug (4) from the track. Tighten the bolts (5) in the track adjuster. Tighten valve (3) in the track adjuster to a torque of 70 15 N m (50 11 lb ft). 3. Install tooling (A) between the track and the track roller frame. Use tooling (A) to lift the track off carrier roller (6).4. Remove bolts (7) that hold track carrier roller (6) in the bracket. Remove track carrier roller (6).Install Track Carrier Rollers
1. Put track carrier roller (6) in position in the support bracket. Align two dowels (2) with two holes (1) in the support bracket. 2. Install the washers and bolts that hold carrier roller (6) in the bracket, but do not tighten.3. Lower the track onto the track roller carrier (6). Remove tool (A). Move track roller carrier (6) in or out as needed to properly align it with the track. Tighten bolts (7).End by:a. adjust tracksDisassemble Track Carrier Rollers
Start By:a. remove track carrier rollers 1. Remove spiral snap ring (1). Remove collar (2) from the roller. 2. Remove Duo-Cone seal (3) from collar (2). Remove the other half of the Duo-Cone seal from the roller. 3. Remove the three bolts that hold cover (4) to the roller. Remove the cover from the roller and remove the O-ring from the cover.
