1. Drain the transmission oil.2. Disconnect the four oil lines from transmission oil pump (1), (two were removed during transmission removal).3. Remove two bolts (2), and remove transmission oil pump (1). The following steps are for installation of the transmission oil pump.4. Check the condition of all O-ring seals, and replace them if necessary.5. Put transmission oil pump (1) in position on the transmission case, and install two bolts (2).6. Connect the four oil lines to the transmission oil pump.7. Fill the transmission with oil to the correct level. Start By:a. remove transmission oil pump Mark the location of all components for assembly. 1. Remove locknut (3) and washer and drive gear (1) from the transmission oil pump. Remove O-ring seal (2). 2. Remove key (4) from the gear assembly. Remove four bolts (5), and set the pump assembly on blocks. 3. Remove the O-ring seal and cover (6) from the pump. Remove two gears (7). 4. Remove key (9) from the gear assembly. Remove body (8). 5. Remove two gears (11) and the key from gear assembly (10). Remove body assembly (12). Remove the O-ring seal from body (12). 6. Remove bearings (13) and dowels (14) from body assembly (12) if necessary. 7. Remove two gear assemblies (10) from body assembly (15). 8. Remove two bearings (16) and the O-ring seal from body assembly (15). The following steps are for assembly of the transmission oil pump.9. Check all parts for wear or damage, and replace them if necessary. Lubricate all parts with clean transmission oil during assembly. 10. Use tooling (A), and install two bearings (16) into body assembly (15) and two bearings (13) into body assembly (12). Install the bearings until they are 1.5 0.5 mm (.06 .02 in.) below the surface. Make sure the bearing joints are 30° 15° from the centerline toward the discharge port as shown.11. If four dowels (14) were removed, install them until they project 5.00 0.5 mm (.197 .02 in.) from the surface of body assembly (12).12. Install the O-ring seal in body assembly (15).13. Put body assembly (15) in position on blocks. Install drive gear assemblies (10) into body assembly (15).14. Install body assembly (12) on body assembly (15). Install the key on drive gear assembly (10), and install two gears (11). Install the O-ring seal in body assembly (12).15. Install body (8) on body assembly (12). Install key (9) into drive gear assembly (10).16. Install two gears (7) on the gear assemblies. Install the O-ring seal in cover (6), and put cover (6) in position on body (8).17. Carefully lay the pump assembly on its side, and install four bolts (5). Install key (4) on the gear assembly, and install O-ring seal (2) on the pump.18. Install gear (1), the washer and locknut (3). Tighten locknut (3) to a torque of 95 15 N m (70 11 lb. ft.).19.
