Typical Example
Place Tooling (A) under the front chassis. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Jacking Locations" for the correct locations. Use Tooling (A) to lift the front chassis until the weight of the truck is off the front tires and rims. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1328, "Lift Group (Stand - 60 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A).
Use Tooling (C) to keep the front suspension cylinder from extending. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (C).

Use Tooling (B) to remove 68 nuts (1) and the 68 washers. Leave two nuts attached. The two nuts should be separated by 180 degrees. This will keep the tire and the rim on the machine until the tire handler is positioned to support the tire and rim.

Use a tire handler to support the tire and rim. The tire and the rim weigh approximately 5,159 kg (11,373 lb).
Remove remaining two nuts (1) and the two washers that hold the tire and rim. Remove the tire and rim.
Repeat Steps 1 through 5 for the front tire and rim on the opposite side.Installation Procedure

Remove any paint, debris, or other contaminants.Note: Do not apply any lubricants to the faces of the washers and the threads of the bolts.

Use a tire handler to support the tire and rim. The tire and the rim weigh approximately 5,159 kg (11,373 lb).
Install the tire and rim. Install two nuts (1) and the two washers. The two nuts and two washers should be separated by 180 degrees to hold the tire and rim on the machine.Note: When nuts (1) are installed, tighten the nuts to a torque of 1000 125 N m (738 92 lb ft).

Use Tooling (B) to install remaining 68 nuts (1) and the 68 washers.

Remove Tooling (C). Lower Tooling (A) until the weight of the truck is on the front tires and rims. Remove Tooling (A).
Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for the front tire and rim on the opposite side.
