Illustration 1. Schematic of heavy lift attachment.Outline of Control
The heavy lift switch mounted on the left console is turned ON, and simultaneously:
1. Solenoid Valve 1 is energized. The pilot supply pressure, supplied to joysticks and travel pedal valves, is limited to 15 kg/cm2(210 psi). Therefore, all control valves cannot be fully shifted even though joysticks or pedals are moved to the stroke end. It means hydraulic oil flow is limited for the easier (slower) lifting operation.2. Solenoid Valves 2 and 3 are also energized. The system relief pressure of the implement hydraulic circuit is increased from 320 to 350 kg/cm2(4550 to 4975 psi). This will provide the heavier lifting capability for the machine.3. The maximum engine speed is automatically limited to Power Mode I (dial 7), even though Power Mode III or II is selected. (Monitor display does not change.)4. The minimum power shift pressure [0 kgm/cm2(0 psi)] is output when the implement or travel pressure switch is turned on. Heavy lift switch and solenoid valves (1, 2, and 3) are attachment parts.Preparation
Illustration 2. Top view of pumps. (1) Power shift tap.1. Attach a 0 to 4150 kPa (0 to 600 psi) gauge to the power shift port on the rear implement pump tap (1).
Illustration 3. Front pump. (2) Tap (front pump delivery pressure).2. Attach a 0 to 50 000 kPa (0 to 7500 psi) gauge to front implement pump delivery pressure tap (2) located on top of the pump.
Illustration 4. Rear pump. (3) Tap (rear pump delivery pressure).3. Attach a 0 to 50 000 kPa (0 to 7500 psi) gauge to rear implement pump delivery pressure tap (3) located on bottom of the pump.
Illustration 5. Main control valve. (4) Line ("Boom Raise" pilot pressure signal).4. Attach a 0 to 4150 kPa (0 to 600 psi) gauge into the tee at "Boom Raise" pilot pressure signal line (4) on top of the main control valve.Adjustment Procedure
Illustration 6. Heavy lift switch on left console.1. Put heavy lift switch in OFF position.
Illustration 7. Electronic monitor panel.2. Put monitor in Power Mode III, Dial Speed 10, and move the boom control lever to BOOM RAISE. Pilot pressure at "Boom Raise" pilot pressure signal line gauge should be around 3450 kPa (500 psi).3. Put monitor in Power Mode III, Dial Speed 10, and move the boom control lever to BOOM RAISE. Power shift pressure must be greater than 2075 kPa (300 psi). Put heavy lift switch in ON position and move the boom control lever to BOOM RAISE. Power shift pressure must be approximately 0 kPa (0 psi) which forces the pump toward minimum angle. Put heavy lift switch in OFF position.4. Put monitor in Power Mode I, Dial Speed 7. Monitor engine speed using the monitor, Service Level 0. Engine speed should be 1725 75 rpm while modulating "Boom Raise". Put heavy lift switch in ON position. Put monitor in Power Mode III, Dial Speed 10. Modulate the boom control lever to BOOM RAISE. Engine speed should be within 25
