Remove two bolts (4) and washers from the bracket.
Move bracket (5) aside.

Remove two bolts (8) and washers from the hood latch.
Remove hood latch (7) with radiator overflow tank (6) from the counterweight.

Cut straps (9) .
Remove bolt (10) and the washer.
Move ground wire (11) aside.

The engine is removed for photographic purposes.
Use tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to support counterweight (12) .
Remove four bolts (13) and washers from the counterweight.
Use a suitable lifting device to remove counterweight (12) from the upper structure. Weight of the counterweight is 310 kg (683 lb).Installation Procedure

The engine is removed for photographic purposes.
Position counterweight (12) with Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the upper structure. Weight of the counterweight is 310 kg (683 lb).
Install washers and four bolts (13) to the counterweight. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft).

Place new straps (9) .
Position ground wire (11) to the counterweight.
Install the washer and bolt (10) to the ground wire.

Position hood latch (7) with radiator overflow tank (6) to the counterweight.
Install washers and two bolts (8) to the hood latch.

Position bracket (5) to the counterweight.
Install washers and two bolts (4) to the bracket.

Position left rear corner protector (3 ) to the counterweight.
Install washers and four bolts (2) to the left rear corner protector.
Repeat Step 10 and Step 11 for the right rear corner protector.

Close engine hood (1) .End By: Install the bottom guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bottom Guard - Remove and Install".
