Removal Procedure
Note: Put identification marks on all harness assemblies for installation purposes.
Personal injury may occur from failure to properly service the batteries.Batteries give off flammable fumes that can explode. Electrolyte is an acid and can cause personal injury if it contacts the skin or eyes.Prevent sparks near the batteries. Sparks could cause vapors to explode. Do not allow jumper cable ends to contact each other or the engine. Improper jumper cable connections can cause an explosion.Always wear protective glasses when working with batteries.
Note: This machine is equipped with 2 batteries. The first battery is located under the cab. The second battery is located behind the right rear enclosure door.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Open the rear right side enclosure door.

Disconnect cable assemblies (1) and attaching hardware. Disconnect cable assembly (2).
Remove rods (4) and bracket (5) .
Use two people to remove battery (3). The weight of battery (3) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).

Remove support assemblies (6). Remove floor mat (7) .

Remove bolts (9). Remove plate (8) .

Disconnect harness assembly (10). Position harness assembly (10) out of the way.
Disconnect cable assemblies (12), (13), and (16).
Disconnect plate (15). Position plate (15) out of the way.
Remove rods (14) and remove plate (17) .
Use two people to remove battery (11). The weight of the battery (11) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).Installation Procedure

Use two people to position battery (11). The weight of the battery (11) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).
Install plate (17). Apply Tooling (A) to rods (14) and install rods (14) .
Connect plate (15) .
Connect cable assembly (16) and (12) and tighten the nuts to a torque of 7.2 N m (64 lb in). Connect cable assembly (13) and tighten the nut to a torque of 13 3 N m (115 27 lb in).
Connect harness assembly (10) .

Install plate (8). Install bolts (9) .

Use two people to position battery (3). The weight of battery (3) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).
Install bracket (5). Apply Tooling (A) to rods (4) and install rods (4) .
Install cable assembly (2) and tighten the nut to a torque of 7.2 N m (64 lb in). Connect cable assembly (1) and the attaching hardware. Tighten the nut to a torque of 7.2 N m (64 lb in).
Close the rear right side enclosure door.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
