Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Display Description" for more information on the icons that are on the Display.The following sections explain the procedure that is used in order to benchmark the AccuGrade - Laser System while using the Reference Elevation Operating Mode. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Setting the Reference Elevation" in order to use the AccuGrade - Laser System and set up the AccuGrade - Laser System in the Cut/Fill Operating Mode .Benchmark the System
To make sure that the machine is grading to the correct elevation, the machine's cutting edge must be benched over a point with known elevation. This point is known as a benchmark.Using a Level Laser
Level the machine's cutting edge.
Place the center of the blade tip on the benchmark.Make sure that you do not move the benchmark. If necessary, put the blade tip next to the benchmark.
Press the left reset button when the center of the blade is on the benchmark. The mast will begin to move automatically in order to search for the laser beam. The search for the laser beam will stop when the laser receiver is on-grade.This process is called auto benching.Note: In order to obtain the best results, the cutting edge must be parallel to the laser beam.The following Illustration shows the way the machine's cutting edge must be positioned for proper benching with a level laser.

The elevation of the benchmark must be entered into the Display. In order to enter the elevation, proceed through the following steps.

Place the power/setup switch on the Display to the Information position. The screen in Illustration 11 appears. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Display" for more information on the buttons and switches on the Display.
Toggle either of the Menu scroll switches until "Reference Elevation" is highlighted on the Display.

Press the right OK button. The screen that is shown in Illustration 12 appears on the Display.

Press the OK button again. The screen that is shown in Illustration 13 appears on the Display.The current reference elevation value and the configured units appear on the Display.
To edit the "Reference Elevation" value, perform the procedure that is listed below.
Press the OK button and the ESC button simultaneously in order to reset the "Reference Elevation" to 0.000.
Press the Cursor scroll button in order to move the cursor to the right and in order to highlight the digit on the Display that you want to change.
Toggle either of the Menu scroll switches in the up direction in order to increase the value.
Toggle either of the Menu scroll switches in the down direction in order to decrease the value.
Toggle either of the Menu scroll switches in the up direction or to the down direction in order to change the sign from positive to negative. The cursor
