Information:

Do not attempt to pry the pump body and cover apart with force. This will likely damage pump components.
6. Lightly tap the drive shaft and pump body (5) with a plastic hammer to loosen the body. Support the body to prevent parts from falling.7. Remove body (5) from the pump. Push on the end of the drive shaft so that the gears remain inside the pump. 8. Pull wear plate (6) off of gears (7) and (8). Discard the wear plate. This will be replaced with a new part during assembly. 9. Apply a little marking dye to mating teeth of gears (7) and (8). This will retain pump timing during assembly.10. Remove gears (7) and (8) from cover (9). 11. Remove sealing ring (10), load seal (11), and pre-load seal (12) from body (5). Discard these three rings. They will be replaced with new parts during assembly. 12. Remove seal retainer (13) and seal (14) from inside body (5). Discard these pieces. They will be replaced with new parts during assembly. 13. Examine bearing sleeves (15) in body (5) and cover (9). Do not remove the bearing sleeves unless they appear damaged. If bearing sleeves (15) are removed, they must be discarded and replaced with new parts during assembly.14. Wash cover (9) and body (5) in mineral spirits to remove internal contamination. Dry these parts before assembly. Replace any parts that show damage or excessive wear.15. Clean all other parts of the pump and check for damage or excessive wear. Replace parts as necessary.16. Light scratches on the gears may be removed with an oil stone. If scratches are deep or other damage has occurred, both gears must be replaced as a set.Assemble Pump
Be sure to replace old parts with the new parts contained in the pump repair kit. 1. If bearing sleeves (15) were removed during disassembly, new parts must be installed as follows: a. Lubricate new bearing sleeves (15) with a little oil.b. Press the bearing sleeves into cover (9) and body (5). Be sure to start the bearing sleeves straight into their bores. Do not over-press. 2. Oil the inside surfaces of cover (9).3. Tap gears (7) and (8) into cover (9) using a plastic hammer. The gearshafts must fit straight into the bearing sleeves inside cover (9). Be sure to match up the dye marks made on the gears during disassembly. 4. Lightly grease the surface of wear plate (6). Install the wear plate over the gear shafts, with the bronze side facing the gears. 5. Lubricate pre-load seal (12), load seal (11), and sealing ring (10) with a little oil. Install pre-load seal (12) into body (5) first, then install load seal (11) and sealing ring (10) into body (5). 6. Make sure the mating surfaces of cover (9) and body (5) are clean, free of oil, and dry.7. Install body (5) onto cover (9). Make sure seals are not pinched and internal parts are not displaced. 8. Install four short bolts
