Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Loosen screw (2). Disconnect harness assembly (1). Disconnect hose assembly (3).

Remove nuts (4) and (5). Disconnect harness assemblies (6) and (7).

Remove bolts (8). Disconnect harness assemblies (9) and (11). Disconnect hose assembly (10). Loosen the clamps on each end of tube (12). Remove tube (12).

Disconnect hose (13).

Disconnect harness assembly (16). Disconnect hoses (15) and (17). Remove tube (18).

Loosen bolts (22). Slide screen (21) away from the engine.

Apply Tooling (A) in order to support rotor (23).

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto engine (24). The weight of engine (24) is approximately 1814 kg (4000 lb).

Position Tooling (C) under generator (25) for support. Repeat on opposite side.

Remove bolts (26) and (27).

Remove bolts (28) and remove the engine.
