Use of the emergency stop will shut off the fuel. If the engine is equipped with air shutoffs, the air shutoffs will also be activated. Refer to "Air Shutoffs (if equipped)" in this section. For operation of the emergency stop button, see the instructions that are provided by the OEM of the equipment.
Do not start the engine until the problem necessitating the emergency stop has been located and corrected.
If the emergency stop button was pushed in order to shut down the engine, it will be necessary to reset the emergency stop button before restarting the engine. If the emergency stop button is used, both of the air shutoffs must be reset before the engine can be restarted. The power for the ECM must be cycled before the engine can be restarted.Air Shutoffs (If Equipped)

The air shutoffs are activated when energy to a solenoid is interrupted or a solenoid that is mounted on the shutoff is electrically activated. Earlier models use a plate that rotates on a shaft in order to shut off inlet air to the aftercooler. Later models use a plate that slides when the mechanism is activated in order to shut off inlet air to the aftercooler. The engine stops because of the restricted air supply to the combustion chamber. The air shutoffs will actuate for the following conditions:Note: A switch may be supplied by the customer in order to activate the air shutoffs.
The emergency stop button is pressed.
The air shutoff is activated.
An overspeed condition occurs.
The electronic control module loses power. The air shutoffs must be manually reset before the engine is restarted. To reset the air shutoffs, turn the knob or the hex until the air shutoff is in the "OPEN" position. Ensure that both of the air shutoffs are reset.Power to the ECM must be cycled in order to restart the engine. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position for three seconds. Turn the battery disconnect switch back to the ON position. The engine may now be restarted.
