1. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (23) and install the cup in cage (20).2. Install a 5/8" - 11 NC forged eyebolt in the bearing cage. Fasten a hoist and install the cage in the final drive housing without the O-ring seal and shims. Install three evenly spaced bolts in the cage and tighten them until there is about 6.35 mm (1.4 in) gap between the cage and housing. 3. Install gear (19) with tooling (A). 4. Install spacer (24).5. Heat the two bearings (18) to a maximum temperature of 135° C (275° F). Install the cones on the output shaft.6. Using a hoist, install the output shaft and gear into the final drive housing. The weight is approximately 129 kg (285 lb). 7. Install tooling (B). 8. Lower the temperature of bearing cups and race (17). Install them in the cover.9. Using tooling (C), install the seal in the cover with the lip toward the outside of the cover. 10. Using tooling (D), install gear (25) on the second reduction pinion (13). 11. Heat the bearings for the second reduction pinion to a maximum temperature of 135° C (275° F) and install the bearings on the pinion.12. Use tooling (E) to install gear (26) on the first reduction pinion (12). 13. Heat bearing cones (27) for the input pinion to a maximum temperature of 135° C (275° F). Install the bearing cones on the input pinion.14. Install rod (11), coupling (10), the spring, washer and nut (8) on the input pinion. 15. Lower the temperature of the bearing cup for cage (15) and install in the cage. Install cage (15) on the cover without the O-ring seal and shims. Install the bolts that hold the cage in place.16. Install second reduction pinion (13) on the cover. Install tooling (F).17. Put first reduction pinion (12) in position on the cover and install tooling (G) to hold the pinion to the cover. 18. Fasten tool (H) and a hoist to the cover and lift it up. If the rollers are not held in, the bearing will not fit into the race and the cover can not be installed.19. Put 1P808 General Purpose Lubricant on the rollers of outer bearing (28) of the first reduction pinion. This will hold the rollers in toward the center of the pinion during the installation on the cover.20. Put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket Material on the surfaces of the cover and housing that contact each other. 21. Install input pinion (4) in the final drive housing. 22. Position cover (7) next to the final drive housing. Carefully move the cover toward the housing. Some movement of the cover will be necessary to get the bearings in alignment with the bearing cups. When the bearing cones are in their correct position in the housing and the cover is about 25.4 mm (1 in) away from the final drive housing, install three 5/8" - 11 NC guide bolts (6) and start four cover bolts.
