When reporting the repair, use "PS52600" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

PROBLEM
The existing solenoid can allow the air shut off to inadvertently close causing unwanted engine shutdowns on certain C27 Petroleum Engines.

PARTS DISPOSITION

Rework Procedure
1. Before starting any work on the air shutoff ensure that the valve is in the closed position, by actuating the air shutoff through the customer controls while the engine is not operating.

2. Locate the solenoid set screw, mark the location of the set screw, on the side of solenoid, and remove set screw, this will allow the solenoid to rotate.

3. Using a large pair of slip joint pliers, place the jaws on the flats of the solenoid, unscrew the solenoid to gain access to the 4 bolts that retain the adapter.

4. Remove the 4 bolts that retain the adapter, and remove the adapter and spring assembly.

5. Install new spring assembly from 450-4330 Solenoid As.

6. Apply loctite to the four bolts that retain the adapter in the air shut off housing and install bolts.

7. Install solenoid onto adapter and tighten so that the mark made on the solenoid lines up with the set screw access groove, apply loctite to set screw, install and tighten set screw.
