This Revised Service Letter replaces the December 18, 1992 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Action Required.

All 8N6862 and 8N6863 Seals need to be removed from parts stock.
Action Required
Remove all 8N6862 and 8N6863 Seals from parts stock and replace them with new 6I1356 and 6I1357 Seals respectively. Also, review the following gasket kits with date codes prior to 12/92:

If the gasket kit(s) have a date code prior to 12/92, place a tag on them noting to exchange the existing seals with new 6I1356 and 6I1357 Seals before the kits are used.
If the gasket kits are opened, they will not be accepted for return by Caterpillar.
Service Claim Allowances
Submit one claim for all 8N6862 and 8N6863 Seals removed from parts stock.
Parts Disposition
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
