Intended Use
This Power Generator is to be used to generate electrical power.Engine Description
3500C Generator Set Engines are electronically controlled diesel engines. The engines have electronic fuel injectors. The engines are equipped with an air-to-air aftercooler (ATAAC).Engine efficiency and engine performance depend on adherence to proper operation and maintenance recommendations. Use the recommended fuels, lubrication oils, and coolant. Pay special attention to the air cleaner, to the fuel system, to the lubrication system, and to the cooling system maintenance. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Maintenance Interval Schedule" for additional information on maintenance items. Generator Description
The SR5 brushless generator can be used with the following loads: mixed loads of motors and lights, SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier)-controlled equipment, computer centers, installations of communications and petroleum drilling applications. The generator set packages can be utilized for prime power generation or standby power generation.SR5 generators are utilized in three-phase full-wave excitation and regulation. The generators are either four or six pole designs. The frame size will determine if the generator has six leads or 12. The generators produce electrical power in either 50 Hz or 60 Hz applications.Aftertreatment system description
The aftertreatment system for the exhaust combines the following technologies:
Ammonia Oxidation (AMOx) Catalyst
Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC)
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)The SCR reduces NOX.The AMOx catalyst controls ammonia slip. The DOC reduces the following:
Carbon monoxide
Hydrocarbons
Particulate matter (PM)
Soluble organic fractionThe DOC, SCR, and AMOx catalysts are packaged together in a module, which is called the Clean Emissions Module (CEM). Exhaust gas enters into the CEM through the inlet housing and passes through the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC). The exhaust gas then enters the mixing tube, where the DEF is injected into the exhaust stream. The DEF decomposes into ammonia and carbon dioxide when exhaust temperature exceeds 180° C (356° F). The mixture of exhaust and ammonia travels through the SCR. The ammonia reacts with the NOX in the exhaust stream at the SCR catalyst to produce water vapor and nitrogen. Any ammonia that is left over is cleaned up by the AMOx catalyst.Dosing Cabinet
The dosing control cabinet controls the following:
Rate of DEF flow to the injector
Compressed air pressureThe dosing cabinet houses the following:
Pump
ECM
Sensors
Manifold
DEF tank
Valves
HeatersSpecifications
