A polyurethane paint and paint application process is used on the machines listed. The process uses an epoxy primer and a urethane finish coat which produces better gloss, gloss retention, and service life.
This process is adaptable to first production for the machines listed. For repair of polyurethane finishes, the following colors and container sizes are available. The touch-up paint which is available in either aerosol cans or 3.8 L (1 gal U.S.) containers, is alkyd (not polyurethane) paint. This paint is compatible with the factory applied paint. The paint will match the color and gloss of the factory applied paint, but it will not provide the same scratch resistance or color retention.
Each of the epoxy primer or finish coat repair kits listed in this article contains .95 L (1 qt) of polyurethane resin, the correct amount of hardener necessary to mix with the resin, and a mixing container.
For general cleaning of paint application tools, use 9U6360 Paint Solvent (3.8 L [1 gal U.S.]) for epoxy primer and urethane based paints.
Before applying polyurethane paint, it is highly recommended to refer to the first Reference (slide package) for important application procedures. The package contains detailed information on health, safety, and application equipment requirements. The slide package is available through normal literature ordering channels. The second Reference provides detailed information regarding the correct mixing/thinning procedures and ordering details for the paint.
