Install the tip (4) on the adapter (5). Insert a new retainer (6). Do not reuse old retainers.

Retainer Installation Step 1
Drive the retainer (6) into the adapter. The top of the retainer should be level with the top of the ear on the tip. At this point, the retainer should be free to have a slight movement which indicates the proper engagement with the notch (7) .

Retainer Installation Step 2Removal
Drive the retainer (6) out of the tip (4). The retainer may be driven out from either direction.

Discard the used retainer. Do not reuse old retainers.
