17. Remove seal assembly (9) and thrust ring (10) from the link assemblies.18. If the retaining ring did not fall out of the link when the track pin was removed, remove retaining ring (11) from the track link.
If the track links and bushing are disassembled, the bushing will have to be destroyed.
19. If necessary cut the bushing in half to separate the track links. Press the bushing halves out of the track links.Assemble Tracks
Check all parts of the track assembly for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Make sure the parts are clean and dry before assembly. 1. Put SAE 90 oil on each end of bushing (12) for a minimum distance of 5 mm (.20 in.).2. Put bushing (12) and link (13) in position in tooling (G) as shown. Make sure there is clearance between link (13) and the 6V4108 Receiver [part of tooling (G)].3. Use tooling (G) to install the bushing into link (13) until the end of the bushing makes contact with the counterbore in the 6V4108 Receiver. The bushing must extend 1.66 0.13 mm (.065 .005 in.) above the surface of the link. 4. Put link (13), bushing (12) and link (14) in position in tooling (G) as shown. Install tool (E) to align links (13) and (14).5. Use tooling (G) to install bushing (12) into link (14) until the end of the bushing makes contact with the counterbore in the 8T7787 receiver. The bushing must extend 1.66 0.13 mm (.065 .005 in.) above the surface of the link. 6. Put a thin film of SAE 90 oil on the counterbores in link assembly (7). Use tool (H) and install the seal assembly (the seal and load ring) in the counterbores in link assembly (7).7. Put a small amount of 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on one surface of the thrust rings. Install the thrust rings in the counterbores of link assembly (7).
Use only enough force to spread link assembly (7) apart far enough to install
