Do not allow heat to exceed 177° C (350° F). Heating must be done slowly to prevent thermal stresses in the other components.
1. Heat the fastener to three to five seconds, only, and try to loosen the fastener with a wrench. Do not use an impact wrench, and do not hit the fastener with a hammer.2. Repeat step 1 until the fastener can be removed.3. When it is not necessary to remove a Dri-Loc fastener, check for correct torque value, as follows: a. Apply the minimum torque required for that size fastener. If the bolt does not rotate, it is all right.b. If the bolt rotates any amount, it must be removed from the component. 1. Wipe excess oil and residue from the threaded bolt holes; however, no special cleaning is required.2. Install the new Dri-Loc bolts and tighten to the required torque for that bolt size. Dri-Loc does not alter the torque requirement. There is no drying time required for Dri-Loc fasteners.Reusing Dri-Loc Fasteners With Liquid Adhesive
1. Clean oil and dirt from the threaded bolt holes; however, no special cleaning is required.2. Apply liquid adhesive to only the threaded holes, letting four or five drops run down the side of each hole. Make sure the adhesive is on the threads.
Do not apply adhesive to the fastener threads. Air pressure in the hole will push the adhesive out as the fastener is installed.
3. Install and tighten the bolts to the required torque for that bolt size. The adhesive will not alter the torque requirement.
